Markus Pilz, known under his moniker APLOT, is making beats in his own way. Gathering his influences from the Golden Era of Hip Hop, he tries to create an analoguesk charme for his own productions. His creative approach, of playing with lots of different samples, leads to a specific sound which could be described as electronic, idm-touched , soulful bass music.
His debut Ep ‚The Breathing’ embodies APLOT’s unique sound in a perfect way. Covering his early influences as well as his development in the last two years, since he was starting creating music.
The title track ‚The Breathing’ is a homage to his early rap influences with an charming atmosphere, building up right from the beginning of the track. Big drums in combination with glitched percussions and an warm-hearted synth, are the main elements of the track. His particular way of slightly bringing new sounds and structures to the track is quit unique and is a note of his own style.
The second track on his debut EP ‚Tha City’ takes you on a dreamy journey, full of warming emotions. APLOT’s particular slant of playing with filthy drums and percussions, supplemented with analog sample baublery and a hypnotic vocal sample, this is the main recipe of this track.
The third track ‚Denim’ is more dancefloor oriented and reflects APLOT’s current musical output in the best way. With raised up bpm, filthy sounds and suprisingly emerging elements.
